ByFood: An Organic Vegan Meal at Fu Lu Shou Complex

There are times when we just want to feel slightly healthier and one good way is to choose organic vegetarian food over high-calorie eats for just one or two meals. We do not want to just go for normal vegetarian stalls because many of them serve oily, deep fried and salty dishes. It is best to try out organic cafes though a bowl of noodles may cost more than the usual coffeeshop style. That is what I do anyway, and indeed, it made me feel better especially after the guilt of eating full cream Nestle ice cream for two consecutive days.

I would usually eat at Nature's Harvest Cafe located at #02-08 Fu Lu Shou Complex. The ambience is quiet and comfortable which is what I like about this place. There are side tables whereby one can get a view of bugis area while eating. This cafe has an organic goods section that sells food ingredients and body care items which is worth visiting before or after meal. There is also a friendly elderly lady who comes out from the kitchen to serve customers their food. The presence of elderly people inside the kitchen always gave me some kind of mental assurance that the food would be good. :)

Below are two dishes that I ordered for last Sunday's lunch. Both tasted good and interesting to eat. I prefer their Kailan Fried Rice the most but wanted to try other dishes on their menu that day. They have dishes like dry noodles, mee sua soup, ala carte dishes, yummy beverages and much more.

Somehow this meal managed to de-stress me and I finally found the motivation to make the tiny chinese dragonfly knots for the heat packs later that night. I made 8 of them, 4 yellow and 4 pink, each measuring about 1-inch. Though my poor eyes suffered, there was a good sense of achievement! :)
